Finding Criminal records in Indiana is a task that has been made easier because there is a special site under the jurisdiction of the Indiana State Police that allows a limited search.  Not only does this save time, but it also allows a person to look up the abbreviated records to see what they contain and if that information is sufficient.

Starting with the limited search should get most people the basic information they need.  If there is not enough information available through the limited search, you can expand your search through the criminal courts.  There are, of course, many websites that offer criminal background information on individuals.  They charge a fee in addition to the actual court fees and they research the information for you.  If you decide to use one of these outside sites, be sure to compare several sites to determine what information they can provide, whether it is actually certified through the court and how much their additional fees are.  The most up to date and accurate information will be provided directly through the official websites for the state of Indiana.
