If you are looking for Criminal records in Louisiana, it is a straightforward.  On any of the main search engines, type in Louisiana Criminal records and you will end up with pages of sites that offer to find the records for you.  The official Louisiana site is found at www.ag.state.la.us/index.aspx and you can search for some things on line.

Unfortunately, compared to other sites from other states, the Louisiana site does not offer as much online and is not as easy to navigate.  The site is pleasant to look at and well organized, but there is no actual “Criminal” page to click on.  To get criminal information and records, you need to click on the section at the left of the page called “Divisions” and that will take you to a page that has more subsections.  On the left hand side of the page under the “Divisions” heading you will find several subdivisions, one of them being Criminal.  Once you click on the Criminal subdivision, you will be taken to a page that lists the criminal divisions in the middle/right side of the page.  Unfortunately, this only describes each division without giving you a way to get the records.

Under the “Contact Us” section to the left side of the page, there is an extensive list of all the contacts you would ever need to get criminal information in Louisiana.  Judging from the way the website is set up, you will need to find the contact information for the office nearest you or the office you need to deal with (fraud, robbery, etc.) and call for information.

There are many sites online that offer to find Louisiana Criminal records for you for a fee in addition to the state fees you have to pay.  Usually we strongly suggest sticking with the official site for the state, which we supplied above, however, in this situation, if you are unable to find the records you need from the information given, you may have to go onto an outside site.  It is important that you research so you end up on a legitimate site that has full disclosure, especially when it comes to charges.
