Finding Criminal records in the state of Montana has become easier due to the internet and to an excellent and well-organized website.  The official website for the state of Montana is http://www.doj.mt.gov.  To find Criminal records, go to the section regarding background checks.  Criminal records for Montana are overseen by Montana Department of Justice.

When searching for Criminal records/background checks there are certain records available only to law enforcement and other information that is available to the general public.  The website explains both types of information and the difference between them.  The site also explains that more information might be available by looking at driving records through the Motor Vehicle Division.
